Midweek Magnolias #67

Good morning friends and bloggers,
I would like to welcome my new followers, so happy to see you here!

Today is Wednesday and time for a new challenge over at the Midweek Magnolias. This week we have something sweet in store for you:

Make it girly with ribbons and pearls
So get your Maggies out and join us!

I used my Pippi Longstocking for this card. I just love this stamp.
As a child growing up, Pippi (a character from books by Astrid Lindgrens) was one of my heroes. She was a strong, independent girl who could do anything ! She had a big bag with lots and lots of gold coins to spend, and when she rode her horse (the withe one with the black dots) with her pet monkey on one shoulder she used to whistle the Pippi Longstocking- song melody.
This is such a happy childhood memory for Every time I see this stamp I start humming this melody to

I used papers from Bildmålarna, ribbon and lace from the LLC store and Papirpikene, the pearls and pearl brad are from WOC, the flowers are by WOC and the charm is from LLC and the music note clip is by Tim Holtz. The sentiment is by Norsk Stempelblad AS, and the die used is a spellbinder die.

I colored the Pippi Longstocking image from Magnolia with my Copic Markers. Colors used:
Skin: E13-11-00-000, W3
Hair: E77-74-71-70, W7, E35-37-30,
Clothes: E77-74-71-70, W7-5-3-1-00
Dots around the image: W1-00, C1-00, E 71-70
I used Frantage- Shabby White-  around the image too.
Here it is again. Hope you like it.
Please stop by the Midweek Magnolias to see the beautiful creations by the rest of the DT
and join in for a chance to win a fabulous surprise gift from Magnolia in Sweden.

I would like to enter the Totally Tilda challenge with this card: Going for a song.
My song is "Pippi Longstocking" a well known children's song in Scandinavia.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today,
wising you a wonderful hump day!

Live & Love Crafts 1 year anniversary Blog Hop

Good morning friends and followers.

Today I'm part of a celebration. The Live & Love Craft inspiration and challengeblog is having a Blog Hop to celebrate the store's one year anniversary! As a former DT member and huge LLC fan, I am delighted to join in.

 Blog Hop Order:
Elizabeth - You are here!

The theme of this fabulous hop is "LLC favourites”, and let me tell you
I had lots of fun splurgeing into my LLC stuff- how to choose what my favourites are?
Sooooo hard because I love everything in the
For my project I chose my all time favourite the Alecon lace- it's gorgeous, so soft and delicate! I also had to use one of my newest additions to my stash: Frantage- goes perfectly with every vintage project I make. And the Maya Road pearl pins and Creative Charms Pearl brads I could not live without. Same goes for the Kort og Godt rolled roses and berries and of course the Shabby Seam binding. And last but not least the Pion Design papers. I could go on, but I think it's time to show you my project.

I made a suitcase gift box using a tutorial I found in a 2011 Magnolia Ink magazine. I used Pion Papers, Almas sewing room collection, and a vintage image by Pion. The beautiful Alecon laceKort og Godt rolled roses and berriesCreative Charms Pearl brads, some blue Shabby Seam bindingMaya Road pearl pins, some WOC roses.  I added crackle paint to the corners and wires of the suitcase to make it look like leather.

I used shabby blue Frantage on the image and on some of the flowers.

I used pion papers on the inside, and put some yummy LLC goodies in:

Your next stop is Sandy
Don't forget to leave her lots of love. She's been working so hard this year to build the store and the blog, and she is so talented- go have a look!

Tutorial: Decorating a chocolate box

Hello friends and bloggers,
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I've been busy crafting with a bunch of wonderful ladies all threw the weekend! Lots of fun and laughter, cardmaking and chatting. Soulfood!
I'll show you some of the things I made later on.
Here's a tutorial I made for Ett Trykk Magazine earlier this year.
It's a simple how-to-decorate-a-chocolate-box- tutorial.

The papers are Pion Design, the stamp is Little Tilda by Magnolia- I colored her with distress inks. I used a Martha Steward punch, and most of the stash is from the Live & Love craft store. I distressed all the edges with distress ink and used my sewing machine. The metal corner is painted with white spray paint.

Step by step/ Trinn for trinn:
 1. What you need: 2 x boxes of Toffifee chocolate, cardstock, patterned paper, scoreboard, embellishements, a colored image if you want to use one.
Du trenger: 2 Toffefee esker, kartong, mønsterark, Scoreboard, pynt og ferdig fargelagt stempelmotiv eller annen pynt.

 2. Start by using your sticky tape to glue one box to the other.
Start med å lime sammen sjokoladeeskene.

3.You need one piece of 6 7/8'' x12'' (inches) cardstock.
Use your Scoreboard to score at 4 ¼'' og 6'' og 10 ¼ ''
Mål til kartong 6 7/8'' x12'' (inches)
Skår med Scoreboard ved 4 ¼'' og 6'' og 10 ¼ ''

4.The cardstock will fit your box perfectly.
Lim kartongen rundt eskene.

 5. Measure up a piece of cardboard that is slightly smaller than the box, mine is  6'' x 12".
Score at 4 ¼'' and 6'' and 10 ¼''
I used a punch on two of the edges (the 12")

 6. I used 3 pieces of design papers.  Cut patterned paper for the top and sides (front and rear).
Select the appropriate size, I have one in size. 51/2'' x4'' and 2 in size 5 ½'' x 1 ¾''

7. Decorate the box as desired.
Pynt esken slik du ønsker.

8. Here's my finished decorated box.

Hope you like it!
Wishing you a creative week!

This week our theme is:

Favorite colors

Get your Magnolias out and join in for a chance to win a fabulous prize from Magnolia in Sweden. If you pop over to the Midweek Magnolias you will find lots of inspiration made by the talented DT.

A friend of mine had a beautiful baby boy this week, so this is a card I made for the very first visit to the hospital. One of my favorite color combos is blue, beige and white, so here it is:

I used my new Silhouette to make the box for the card. I added a few details, and those lovely Pion Papers. I made a little card to fit inside.

The Magnolia stamp is a Mini baby Edwin. I colored it with distress inks.

The flowers are by WOC and the dies used are Lifestyle crafts.

Here it is again.  The stamp on the card is another mini Magnolia and a sentiment by Kreativ hobby. I also used some of that lovely shabby seam binding from the live and love craft store. Hope you like it!

CMN- coloring shadow around the image with Tutorial

Hello friends and followers,
Today I want to share my happy news with you. Yesterday i got the fabulous news I passed my European Copic Coloring Master exam! I'm so excited!
Only 5 people in Norway own this title so I'm very proud of

I made this card for Copic Marker Norge, if you pop over to the CMN blog you can have a look at my picture-tutorial on coloring a shadow around the image to make it pop (in Norwegian). EDIT: See tutorial at the end of this post.

Here's the card I made for the tutorial. The fancy folds on Tilda's dress are very much inspired by one of my favorite international copic coloring artists: Alyce. Thank you for the inspiration, hun!

I used papers from Maja Design Vintage spring basic, some lovely lace and metal corner from the LLC store, and Magnolia Doohickey dies for the flower and branch. the flowers are WOC and the fab note clip is by Tim Holtz. The postmark stamps and the big roses are by Kort og Godt. Sentiment stamp is Norsk Stempelblad AS.  I used a Martha Stewardt punch on the edges and lots of distress inks as (sorry about the bad picture quality, I'm not friends with my camera today!)

Here's the tutorial in english. Norwegian version over at Copic Marker Norge
1. Get your colored image.

2. Start  using W5 in corners and creeks. It looks kind of harsh in the beginning- but don't worry, you will not ruin your image!

3. Next get your W3, using the flickering technique, drag the dark color from W5 just a tiny bit longer with your marker.

4. Swithc to W1. Color from the W5, over the W3 and a little longer. Then go on to make a shadow around the whole image, maybe 1/4 of an inch using the W1. Be careful not to get any of the colors from the hair or clothes on your marker as it will smudge.

5. Next is your W00. Go over all edges around the image. Only from the W1 and out.

6. Finally, use your Blender around the edges to smoothen. I usually use the flat end of the marker, use circle movements. Be sure to fill your marker before use to get a soft look.

Then I make the ground under her dress. I use the flat end of the marker.

 7. Start with W5, Draw a thin line under her skirt and where I want the shadow to be.

8. Then on to W3. Drawing on top of the W5 an just a littlebit outside.

9. Next W1. Same thing. On top of the other markers and a little more.

10. Finally I use the W00 and blender.

Repeat the process a couple of time to get darker shadows.
If you find it don't blend well, go over the darkerst parts (W5) with your W00 to soften up. But be careful. If you use your lightest markers on top of the darker ones it will act as the blender and leave light dots.

Here's my finished Tilda in cotton dress with shadows. Copics used:
Hud/Skin: E13-11-00-000-0000, kinn/ Cheeks:E95, Hår/Hair: E77-74-71-70-W7
Kjole/ dress: Rv95-93-91, V000, E71, W3
Skygger/ Shadows: W5-3-1-00, blender

I would like to enter the following challenges.
Totally Tilda: #73 Going Postal
CLP challenge: #59 June Sketch
